How We Build Our Homes

See why we are different from other builders.  Custom Living uses the finest materials and ensures attention-to-detail during all phases of construction.  Our sites are neat and orderly, schedules are professionally managed, and sub-contractors are supervised daily.  Visit our home sites to meet the builder and learn more about our construction.

Custom Living begins with choice real estate on which to build our homes.

Clearing and excavation work is done to prepare the lot for the home's foundation.

With company-owned construction equipment, we can perfect the grading of your lot for proper water drainage and future landscaping.

Open floor plans are chosen to provide families with functional space, as well as dramatic formal areas.  Our homes feature many two-story spaces, first floor master bedrooms, multiple bathrooms on the second floor, bonus rooms, and spacious kitchens.

Foundation work begins the exciting start of the home and sets the groundwork for quality construction.

Attention-to-detail is very important to us.  Properly installed footing drains ensure that your home is dry on the interior and exterior of the foundation.

We spread crushed stone in the crawlspace of our homes to help eliminate moisture, to allow for outdoor storage, and to provide easy access for homeowner maintenance.

Quality base material is compacted down prior to pouring the garage concrete floor.  This protects the garage floor from cracking which can occur during settling.

Framing begins with installation of the floor joists on the first floor.

First floor exterior walls are framed.

Progress continues with framing on the second floor.  The base material for the circular driveway has also been spread and compacted down.

The home continues to take shape with roofing rafters and interior framing.

The roof is complete, window installation continues, and interior framing is finalized.

The home is now fully weather-proofed with roofing shingles, windows, and exterior doors.  Progress moves inside with plumbing, electrical, and HVAC rough-ins.

With brick siding almost complete, interior sheetrock will soon begin.

Progress continues inside with cabinet and flooring installation.

Final details include professionally-installed landscaping and irrigation systems.  Visit our Photo Gallery for interior pictures of our homes.
